Terms and conditions

The rules for using this site, and the principles that govern a commission. They do not replace the written agreement that defines each individual piece.

Version 2026-07

1. Who runs this site

The site officinadepandis.com is run by Riccardo De Pandis, trading as Officina De Pandis, an atelier of fine cabinetmaking based in the province of Lecce, Italy. The controller's contact details are set out in the privacy notice.

2. What this site is, and is not

This site is a presentation space. It is not an online shop: it carries no price list, shows no final prices, does not let you complete a purchase, and has no shopping cart.

Any figures shown while filling in the questionnaire are indicative estimates, generated purely for informational purposes from the answers given. They are not an offer to the public nor a binding quotation.

3. How a commission comes about

Submitting the questionnaire is a request for a consultation, not an order. It creates no obligation for either party.

  1. I personally read your request and reply to you.
  2. If the conversation continues, the piece is defined in content and value.
  3. The agreement is finalised only through a written, signed document describing the piece, the price, the timeline and the payment terms. That document always prevails over these general terms.

The detailed economic terms are governed by the Master Commission Agreement, the commission agreement you receive and sign before work begins — the full text is published at that link (in Italian, with the UK/US/PRC territorial annexes in English). In summary: the commission deposit follows a 50% at signing, 40% at Design Freeze, 10% before delivery schedule, and is fully credited against the price of the piece. For private clients, withdrawing from a commission after signing is a proposal for early termination that the atelier may accept or decline, retaining, to the extent permitted by law, the value of work already carried out; for professional clients, predetermined cancellation percentages apply, increasing with the stage reached. The full text is provided to you during the private consultation.

4. Custom-made pieces and the right of withdrawal

Every piece is conceived and built to measure, around the client's instructions, in a single exemplar.

For distance contracts with a consumer, applicable EU consumer-rights law (implementing Directive 2011/83/EU) excludes the right of withdrawal for goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised. Where applicable, this exclusion will in any case be expressly drawn to your attention in the written agreement before it is concluded.

Your statutory rights in the event of a lack of conformity of the goods remain unaffected.

5. Intellectual property

The text, photographs, drawings, trademark and visual design of this site are the work of, or licensed to, the owner, and are protected by copyright law. You may read them, quote them with attribution, and share a link to them.

You may not reproduce them in full, republish them on other sites, or use them for commercial purposes without written permission. The technical content in the Resources section is made available for informational purposes: you may freely apply it to your own case, but not copy it as content for another site.

6. Technical content and limits of liability

The guides published in the Resources section reflect the owner's workshop experience and are offered in good faith. They do not constitute professional advice for your specific situation: environmental conditions, materials and tools vary, and applying them is at your own responsibility.

I aim to keep the site reachable and up to date, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or the absence of errors. To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for damage arising from service interruptions or from use of the site that does not comply with these terms. Nothing in these terms limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor the mandatory rights granted to consumers.

7. External links

Some pages may contain links to third-party sites, provided for informational completeness. I have no control over their content and am not responsible for what is published there.

8. Personal data

The processing of personal data collected through this site is described in the privacy notice, which forms an integral part of these terms.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of the place where the owner is based.

If you act as a consumer, the mandatory jurisdiction of the courts of your place of residence or elected domicile remains unaffected. For out-of-court dispute resolution, you can consult the list of consumer dispute resolution bodies maintained by the European Commission at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu — the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform, previously referenced in documents such as this one, was discontinued by the Commission on 20 July 2025.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated. The version applicable to a commission is the one in force at the time the written agreement is concluded, which will be delivered to you together with it.
